1. When did you first start to like drawing/writing?
I started drawing when I was around kindergarten? Maybe? Stopped for a while, in pre-school after a discouraging/traumatizing experience Afterwards, I started drawing again sometime in grade school :/
As for writing, I started around 2nd grade, maybe? But I've stopped actually writing stories for now, since I was told that I never really had that much talent in making them. Might go back into it later but who knows.
2. Do you feel that talent is necessary to become a great artist/writer?
Yes, since I believe that you do need to have some kind of talent to achieve something. But, I think that the most important thing would have to be one's passion for what they're doing. Simply put= passion>talent.
3. Are you proud of your work so far?
It's a bit of a love/hate kind of thing I guess...
4. Strengths? Weaknesses?
Strengths I guess making things pretty with effects? Sorta? Through shading and shiny stuff and texture? Maybe? I dunno. xox
As for weaknesses patience. I lack the patience to sit on something. If a drawing is taking too long, I abandon it or leave it in a WIP folder. I lack confidence,
5. Tricky question time! What's a common goal in your artistic/written pieces?
My goal is to create something that I want to see, first and foremost; something that caters to me. Secondly, to create things that can inspire others, in the way that things like Saiyuki, Trigun, Metal Gear or Kara no Kyoukai had inspired me.
6. Do you have any original stories to share? Or do you prefer to do fan-related projects? Both are cool~!
I actually had a main story that I've planned since I was 13 or something. It's evolved from an epic angel vs demon fantasy to something more supernatural and mind-screwy. XD Most of my childhood friends know of it and keep asking what the hell ever happened to it. Well, currently it's been put on hold for reasons.
As for fan-related projects, I've done a few before, though they're mostly fanfics. Not really sure if I wanna get back into them though, since I see no point really I'd rather just see/read other people's fan-related works rather than make my own now. XD
7. Current favourite character that you've designed? / Current favourite existing character?
Luke and Vergil (aka OtherLuke in Ink). (And yeah, it's pretty strange since I treat him/them as one person and at the same time 2 different people.) Pretty sure a lot of people saw this coming a mile away. XD Yes. I am BIASED. But it's because I treat him/them differently compared to the rest of my characters. Unlike the others, who I treat as my creations/babies, I treat Luke and Vergil as my childhood friend/s and my muse/s. XD
8. Do you give your characters theme songs~?
Nope. I usually use songs just for inspiration in certain plotlines/situations.
9. Name three big creative influences!
Manga- my style is particularly influenced by Saiyuki and Bleach. And maybe a bit of Umineko no Naku Koro ni. XD
Animation studios- Like Shaft, Ufotable and P.A. Works.
Video games- Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid in particular. And Onimusha.
10. What creative work are you currently focused on?
Ink final round. xox
11. Latest source of inspiration?
Music videos/MVs/MADs/AMVs of animes and videogames. Also, opening vids for shows.
12. How has this effected your creative work? Specific examples?
Emotion and atmosphere-wise I guess? I mean, I have soundtracks (collections of music videos and songs) for each Ink round. This is the mainly reason why my rounds sorta have a different feel to them when compared against each other. Maybe I'll post the lists some time? (If so... Songs? or MVs? or both?) XD
13. Almost done with these questions! What's your general reaction to seeing other people's art/reading their stories?
Mixed feelings I guess. Something along the lines of "OMG I love you", "why am I so crap" and "I wanna do better". XD
14. What's your response to constructive criticism? Do you like it, or not?
I am very neutral if I didn't particularly ask for them. I pick out which ones to take note of. However, I do ask certain people for crits, and when I do, I take them very seriously.
15. Your reaction to the art community? Likes, dislikes?
I dislike the people who have wars/debates against each other (like OC vs Fanart, or this show vs this show). So I steer clear of them. And certain types of ignorant people... =_=; Otherwise, it's ok-ish?
16. Hardest thing about being an artist/writer?
For me, having confidence. But this stemmed from childhood experiences
17. Easiest thing about being an artist/writer?
Venting I guess. And customizing your stuff. Always fun to make your notebooks personalized. XD
18. So close to the end! Is art/writing a hobby for you, or is it a business path?
I usually say it's a hobby. But to be honest, I do wish for it to be a business path. So we shall see
19. Your dreams for the future? 8D
Creating something that I will really like and publishing it I guess. Making a group with ~ronri and some other artists... And if I'm at that point where I can get figmas of my characters made, my life would be complete. ouo /shot
20. Thanks for answering all... or most of these questions! Do you have any closing notes for your readers that made it to the end?
If you read through all that, thanks for taking the time.
